On October 9th Brian ran his first 50 mile race in Wisconsin. (No that is not a typo he really ran 50 miles!!!) My mom watched the girls for the weekend so Brian and I could make the trip to Wisconsin along with my mother-in-law. My mother-in-law and I crew'd Brian, which means that we went to every aide station (7 in total) where we helped Brian by refilling water bottles, giving him new shirts/socks/etc., rolling out leg cramps, and making sure he had something to eat. Since he was only at the rest-stops for 5-10 minutes we had to work quick and efficiently. We had so much fun being part of his special day. The run lasted all day and Brian's final time was 11 hours and 27 minutes. He did such a great job and we are so proud of this huge accomplishment!
Brian at the second rest stop, mile 13.3
Brian running in at the half-way point, mile 25
Doesn't even look winded after he has run almost the equivalent to a marathon
Brian at the sixth rest stop, mile 36.7
Brian at the final rest stop, mile 43
Running to the finish line!!!
Officially a 50 mile ultramarathon runner
Brian and his crew :-)
Way to go, Brian! That is an amazing accomplishment! Your CA friends are so proud!
