It's a BOY

We found out that we are having a BOY!!! On December 15th we went for our 20 week ultrasound along with the girls and found out that baby Giaretta is a boy :-) We decided ahead of time that we wanted to share the news with our families in person since we haven't been able to in the past when I was pregnant with the girls. So, we invited them all over on Saturday that week to reveal the sex of the baby. We had appetizers and dessert while we had everyone make one final guess of the baby's sex before we handed out little boxes filled with candies saying "Baby Boy" that we had them open at the same time.

The girls helped me make cupcakes and muffins for the party. They love to help me in the kitchen and they looked so cute in their little aprons that Grams bought them.
Everyone's final guesses...
Olivia thought it was a boy from the beginning. She explained to me that she thought it was a brother because she didn't have a brother yet :-)
The moment of surprise...
This is what they saw when they opened the boxes...
We are thrilled to be having a boy!!! Brian and I had both guessed that we were having another girl (guess we were way off) but we could care less either way. We are so grateful that God has blessed us with another baby and we can't wait to meet him in a few months.

Getting ready for Christmas

I know it is well past Christmas and I am just now blogging about the beginning of December but we have busy and battling the everlasting cold symptoms of the season. So, here I am posting our Christmas tree after we put it up the week after Thanksgiving. The girls really enjoyed helping this year and Olivia became a professional tree branch separator (everyone who has ever had a fake tree knows just what I am talking about).

Our beautiful Christmas tree.

My pregnant belly at 18 weeks!!!
We celebrated St. Nick's day on the morning of December 6th. The girls must have been good this year, because they got some nice little gifts in their shoes.
My mom has created so many traditions in our family that I have since continued with my family. One of her Christmas traditions is to get all of us an ornament every year, which she continues to do. This year Brian & I bought Olivia the Hallmark Barbie ballerina ornament and Brooklyn the Hallmark Curious George ornament. When they are a little bit older we will let them each have mini trees in their rooms to display their ornaments like we had in my family growing up.
