The Wedde's Baby Shower

On September 26th, my friends and I threw a baby shower for our good friends Rebecca & Bill. They are such wonderful people and we couldn't be happier to do something sweet for them! The shower's theme was "Once Upon a Time" and since Rebecca loved Golden books as a child, we decided to use them as well. We had a lot of fun putting together all of the decorations and the shower turned out great. Rebecca & Bill have waited a long time to become parents; all the while trusting in God and His glory. There is no doubt in my mind that they are going to be great parents:-)

The clubhouse in our neighborhood made the perfect party location.
We made this banner out of Golden book story pages.

And we had actual Golden books set out all of the room,
which we bought to add to baby Wedde's library:)

We also made these bookmarks from the story book pages &
on the back side we printed prayers for baby Wedde.

Nikki made this adorable 3 dimensional cake!!

For favors, we sent everyone home with some "Sweet Dreams" tea.

Rebecca, Bill, & baby Wedde:)

We had so much fun throwing your shower!!
I hope that it was everything you had wished for!!

Football season is here!

Football season has finally begun! Sundays are my favorite day of the week....going to church to praise the Lord, lounging at home surrounded by the people I love, and watching some good ol' American football...what more could you want? We are huge Chicago Bears fans and so the family tradition must continue that Brooklyn joins in....
Go Bears!

Mud Run

On September 25th, Brian & I ran the Gladiator Mud Run. It was a 5k run with 11 obstacles!! We ran it along with three other married couples that are friends of ours. This was my first race and my only goal was to complete it while getting as muddy as possible. This was a huge accomplishment for me, because I am not a runner and I don't like to get dirty. I have to admit that the best part of the race was the MUD:) By the end of the race I was completely covered in mud from head to toe-even my face! It was so nice to be able to run with Brian and share in one of his favorite hobbies. We had so much fun and I can't wait to run another one!

Group shot before the race.

The bond between sisters

The bond between sisters is special. I grew up with two little sisters and they mean the world to me (I also have a little brother whom I adore). I love the relationship that is already forming between my girls. Every time they share a giggle or a hug I thank God for the sweetness between the two of them and I pray that it only continues to blossom. Olivia is such a wonderful big sister; always concerned of Brooklyn's well-being. And Brooklyn lights up every time Olivia enters the room.

Olivia's Birthday Party Part II

After presents we sang to the birthday girl and then ate cupcakes!! I made Olivia's favorite- chocolate cupcakes:) I dyed the frosting and used icing bags to get them just right. I also made all of the cupcake toppers from the book of comics that I purchased.

I couldn't believe I actually found this little Lucy figurine on E Bay, which made the perfect cake topper.

Olivia obviously enjoyed her cupcake!

I bought blowers and made star-shaped covers for them out of the comics too!

Annalynn won the "Where is Lucy?" game!
Bounce house time....

All of the kids went home with a treat bag of star-shaped glasses, candy necklaces, & Peanuts gang fruit snacks.

Olivia's Birthday Party Part I

Here goes a very long post....

On September 12, we celebrated Olivia's 3rd Birthday by throwing her a "Lucy party"!! For those of you who don't already know, Olivia loves the Peanuts gang and is especially fond of Lucy. So, it was no surprise to me when I asked her a couple months before her birthday what type of party she wanted to have and her reply was "A Lucy party!". Of course it wasn't exactly easy to throw together a Lucy party, but I did it!! The party was a success (although I am not too fond of outdoor parties because you never know what the weather is going to be like and it was a bit windy). We had the party at a picnic area down by the beach. The centerpieces were vases filled with peanuts and star wands. We rented a bounce house for the kids and played games. As for the menu, we served S&T hot dogs (brought all the way from Chicago by my wonderful father-in-law) complete with a hot dog bar made up of tons of delicious toppings! Olivia loved her party and we had a wonderful time celebrating along with our friends and family.

I ordered the party invitations to match the shirt I bought for Olivia to wear & I made envelope liners out of actual comics from a comic book that I purchased off of Etsy.

I made almost all of the decorations including these banners from the book of comics.

I bought this book, which is all of Lucy's comics & everyone signed different pages with a special Birthday message to Olivia.

I have to say that I think Olivia's favorite thing at the party was this Lucy Mylar balloon that I bought from a specialty store off EBay.

And a Lucy party wouldn't be complete without a Psychiatric booth!

Brooklyn fell asleep on the way to the party so she missed family pictures.
